SHIELDHALL
WALLINGTON NORTHUMBERLAND ENGLAND NE61 4AQ

Standing alone in an area of
outstanding natural beauty, overlooking the National Trust estate of
Wallington, this charmingly restored 17th. century house, cottages and later
farm buildings were once home to the family of Capability Brown. Central for
the coast, castles and the roman wall the entire farmstead has been recently
converted with antique detail and fine touches everywhere. The en-suite
bedrooms open into a pretty courtyard with an ancient well and attractive
raised patios. Each room takes its name from the wood used for their
furniture and fittings. Stephen, with his sons, make bespoke and restore
antique furniture. His wife Celia and daughter Sarah are excellent cooks,
creating delicious dinners and breakfasts for all their guests.
